Chair of Horsham Labour
David Hide joined the Labour Party while still at school in 1982.
He has been an active member of Gillingham, New Forest East, Mole Valley and Horsham Labour Party, following his move to the town in 2007, and has been a member of Unite since leaving school.
He has been constituency chair since 2008 and his open and inclusive manner ensures a warm welcome to new and longstanding members.
He has a passion for social justice and believes only by electing Labour councillors locally and MPs nationally can we deliver the change our society so desperately requires.
David has worked in horticulture all his life and is now an agronomist, providing advice to growers on plant nutrition and crop protection.
His work has enabled him to develop a keen understanding of environmental issues including the delivery of sustainable agriculture. He describes himself as a green socialist.
