West Sussex County Council have decided to introduce a booking system for the recycling centre at Billingshurst from February 2024.
There has been no engagement with Billingshurst residents.
There is no justifiable need for it as there are no queues, no known safety nor traffic issues at the Billingshurst Recycling Centre.
The booking system can, however, create inconvenience for residents. It will increase costs at a time when councils are financially stretched and there are no direct benefits for residents.
This decision also increases the chances of fly tipping, which is an ongoing problem.
Recycling should be made easier not harder.
