We believe that Horsham is a great place to live with great schools, shops, amenities and restaurants.
Horsham though is changing and we welcome all of the new residents to our town.
At our core we believe in multi-culturalism and that, as a society we are enriched by the contribution of all who have made and continue to make Horsham their home.
We extend a warm welcome to the new communities who have made their home here in Horsham, from Hong Kong and Afghanistan, from right across Europe, Asia and Africa and all other regions from across the globe. We welcome you all and will seek to ensure your experience within the community is a positive one and that you too can benefit from everything Horsham offers.
Some politicians and political parties, though, seek to divide our communities, create division and imply some lives are more valuable than others. We strongly disagree with this approach and seek unity over division and believe everyone who lives in Horsham are welcomed and respected.
Last October, members of Horsham Labour Party celebrated Black History Month and attended an anti-racism community conference at the Millenium Hall in Roffey co-ordinated by local resident Vivian Okeze-Tirado We were proud to have supported the conference and to spend the day amongst friends. Our chair David Hide was honoured with the opportunity to close the conference and provide a vote of thanks.
As councillors we will listen and learn from these conferences and will reach out to all our communities so that the decisions we make are grounded from within the communities we seek to represent.
