We’re proud to announce Labour’s candidates for Holbrook West in the local elections taking place on 2nd May. Take a look at what our candidates stand for and please contact us if you have any issues or concerns in the area, here.

Susannah Brady: “My name is Susannah Brady, I was Horsham Labour Party’s Parliamentary Candidate in the 2017 General Election. I have lived in Horsham for the last 28 years or so and have raised my children here (I was born here too). I am a company director working in the property maintenance sector and am relatively well known on the local business networking circuit. I have lived in Holbrook West for the last 5 years and am standing for election as a local councillor as I strongly believe we need to introduce some balance and fresh perspective at local government level. Currently we have a district council dominated by a single party which is out of touch with the issues that matter to residents most, such as ensuring we have houses that we can afford to live in. I believe a Labour council will result in a more balanced approach to local government decisions benefiting the entire community regardless of their politics.”

Ray Chapman:I have lived in Holbrook for 36yrs. I am married and have four grown up children and seventeen grandchildren. I am a retired production planner I worked for a Global manufacturing company producing radiotherapy machines. I held the position of Chair on the Holbrook Community Centre Management Committee since 1994. I was a major player in maintaining the youth services at the centre, I was incredibly frustrated and annoyed when the Tory controlled WSCC closed all the youth services. When I am elected as your District councillor I will campaign on the issues of the council outsourcing services and ensure that residents are getting good value for money.”

If you are voting in Holbrook West on May 2nd, you have two votes. Make sure you use all votes for your local Labour candidates. At the last election in Horsham, the Lib Dems came third, behind the Labour & Conservative candidates. A vote for the Lib Dems or any other minor party is a risk and increases the chances of the Tories winning here.
