Karen and Michael Symes will be Labour’s candidates for Trafalgar. If you would like to contact us about issues in Trafalgar and throughout Horsham, please contact us here.

At the last election in Horsham, the Lib Dems came third, behind the Labour & Conservative candidates. A vote for the Lib Dems or any other minor party only risks the chances of the Tories winning here.

Michael has had a 37-year career in international development and served on the Boards of an international bank and an investment management company. He is a life-long Labour Party supporter and, throughout his career, was a member of the Public and Commercial Services Union. He has lived in Horsham for 30 years where he and his wife Karen brought up their two sons and, since 2014, has lived in the Trafalgar ward where he has been selected to stand as one of our Labour Party candidates at the Horsham District Councillor elections in May 2019. Michael is an active campaigner, raising awareness of the impact of the Conservative Party’s policies on people’s lives. His priorities are the defence of public services, environmental issues and making sure the views of local people are heard, so that he can work for the things that matter to Horsham’s residents.

Michael Symes: “I am standing as a councillor in Trafalgar because through regular dialogue with residents I know what matters to them and we need people on the council to represent the views of people living in Trafalgar.  I am very proud of Horsham Labour Party’s local manifesto which I believe meets the aspirations of people living in Trafalgar. The Liberal Democrats have not presented a serious challenge to the majority Tory-led council and it is time that we elected councillors with the energy and determination to make our town a better place for people to live, work and enjoy their leisure time by pursuing ambitious policies that will create a safe and clean environment and give us a town that we can all be proud of.”
