Horsham Labour Party launch summer holiday lunchbox campaign.

Horsham Labour Party Secretary David Hide explained “ Since the start of the pandemic Horsham Labour Party has delivered 100s of tonnes of donated food to our food banks, first helping local people hard hit by the pandemic and now the cost of living crisis.
With the long school holidays looming, there is a real need for families to be able to feed their children , whether they are at home or taking part in organised activities. Of course, the extra cost of mortgages and increasing rents is also impacting people who have never used food banks before, so alongside the regular donations we are now encouraging members of the public to drop off juice boxes, breadsticks, raisins and cereal bars, all of which can be included in a child’s summer holiday lunch box.
Horsham Labour Party recently passed a motion that all state school children should get free, locally cooked, nutritious lunches every school day. “We recognise that good food is a key cornerstone of health and want to see a Britain where food banks and fast food dependency become unnecessary.” added joint campaigns officer Hilary Key
Members of the public can drop off food at any of our community foodbank collection stations listed below or directly to Horsham Matters who manage our foodbanks across Horsham district.
