I have lived in Billingshurst since February 2020. My wife and I both grew up Horsham and have lived in seven of the HDC wards. I have two grown up children who both attended Horsham schools.
I joined the Labour Party after the 2019 election defeat and have been campaigning since then to get Labour elected at District, County and National level. In 2020 I was elected to the Executive Committee of the Horsham CLP and am currently the Treasurer and Social Media Officer. In 2021 I was selected as Labour candidate for Billingshurst in the WSCC elections and working with an amazing team of volunteers in Billingshurst we are now the accepted opposition to the Tories.
I campaigned against the closure of the Children and Family Centre in Billinghurst, am on the management committee of the Billingshurst Community Partnership, am the Lead for collections for the Billi Community Larder food recycling initiative, am part of the local BilliGreen environmental network and have instigated a monthly ‘pop-up’ point for food donations to the Horsham District Foodbank which covers Billingshurst.
I believe our local councillors should be actively involved with the local community groups and voluntary sector, working across multiple areas to improve the Billingshurst experience for all residents especially those who require additional assistance due to 12 years of Tory failure.
As a councillor for Billingshurst I will be campaigning for a more proactive environmental agenda, protecting public services which are continually being eroded and increased support through affordable housing, social care and local facilities.
