Ray Chapman - Candidate for Holbrook
Ray Chapman - Candidate for Holbrook

Ray Chapman;

I have lived in Holbrook for 39 yrs. I am married and have four grown up children and seventeen grandchildren. I am a retired production planner for a Global manufacturing company producing radiotherapy machines.

I held the position of Chair on the Holbrook Community Centre Management Committee since 1994 I resigned this position in September 2018. I was a major player in maintaining the youth services at the centre when the Tory controlled WSCC closed all the youth services.

When I am elected as your County Councillor I would campaign on the issues of the council outsourcing services and ensure that residents are getting good value for money. The contractors should be regularly audited to ensure they are meeting the standard of services they are contracted to do.

With the community charges having been frozen, important services have been severely cut back. This has now resulted with a proposed massive increase in the community charge. The garden waste service having been increased to £41 per annum together with charging for disposing of certain waste at the community tip and the increased parking charges amounts to a stealth tax

The Conservatives have campaigned on Low Council Tax. Weekly bin collections, Support for local business and protecting front line services these polices have now failed

The cuts to Social Care Services are having a great impact especially on our senior citizens to whom we all owe a great debt  for winning the war and winning the peace they are entitled to have security in old age which they rightly deserve. I would campaign to achieve improved services for our senior citizens.
