Enough is Enough

We delivered the  following letter to Jeremy Quin

Jeremy Quin MP Gough House, Madeira Avenue, Horsham,  RH12 1AB.

Dear Jeremy,

I am writing to you today on behalf of Horsham Labour Party, to express our grave concerns around the state of the Nation and call upon you as our elected representative to stretch every sinew to resolve these issues for the good of your constituents and the country.

Here are just a few headlines that illustrate our concerns:

  1. 120, 000 homeless children
  2. 1 million Food Parcels in 2021/22
  3. 4 million Households in Fuel Poverty
  4. 21 million on NHS Waiting Lists
  5. Continually failing rail network
  6. Cost of Living Crisis

While no doubt you may point to all the work your government is doing and the investments being made, it clearly is not working, no more evidence is needed to illustrate the state we are in, than the images of striking nurses and paramedics on our televisions. Never have there been strikes like this within the NHS and while workers are striking for more pay to protect their incomes, at a time of mega inflation, they are also highlighting the near collapse of our NHS and demanding something must be done.

As our MP we call upon you to use your influence within government to persuade the prime minister and the cabinet to properly address the cost-of-living crisis so that:

  1. No child is homeless.
  2. The reliance on foodbanks which is frankly an utter disgrace, is ended.
  3. Greater levels of protection is afforded those on low and no income so that they can afford to heat their homes.
  4. Further we urge the government to get round the table and negotiate pay rises with all striking workers so that Britain can get back to work.

Sitting on the side lines claiming that it is not the responsibility of government to negotiate with striking workers is not good enough and won’t deliver the outcomes the country so desperately needs.  If the Conservative Party has no interest in governing the country, then call a General Election now and let the country decide who they consider would best resolve the crisis we are now all facing.
